Today I decided to critique my own work for you. It might be fun for you to understand how I think about a project. The three photos here are from a job we did in Malibu, California. My clients love to spend weekends in this house and entertain friends. They also rent the home a few times a year so there are extra kitchen/entertaining tools to make life easier for all who use the space.
The garage wasn't needed for cars so it functions as an area to house all the extra items that are used primarily for entertaining. In every photo I share of my work you will see two things: symmetry and categories. I want an area to be beautiful when I am done so my clients enjoy using it. I also want it to be functional so it saves them time.
I love peering into a cupboard and seeing related items grouped together. I immediately know if I have enough of whatever I had in mind. I might be inspired to mix'n'match. Wood was the main theme here as you will see in the next photo. We had the fun of having wood in the cupboard, above it on a high shelf and below on the counter.
